How often do you take a REAL walk? Like a dedicated time to walk.  This does not include walking to your car, the bus, the train or in the mall. Ok, so it seems like I may have listed all the times you may have once considered taking a real walk to somewhere.  I am sorry to say, these times do NOT count. I want to encourage you to take 30 minutes out of your busy schedule and just walk anywhere and anytime, but certainly not late at night, you gotta be safe.

So, where are we walking to?  Well, if you want, pick up a neighborhood map, then start with your neighborhood, park the car, say to yourself, self, we are going for a walk and allow yourself to discover and appreciate your surroundings.  Take time to observe what goes on around you and enjoy a peaceful walk. One that is purposeful, meaningful and most of all refreshing.

You may be wondering, does she even do what she is recommending, ABSOLUTELY, I will not ask you to do what I have not done, otherwise this will be pointless.  I am always ready to ditch the car, believe me. I actually take a 30-minute walk at least twice a week, and I find myself discovering new and exciting things that I know I will not if I were to be driving, on the bus or on the train.

Your challenge here is to try taking “a REAL walk” and see what you discover, be sure to come back and share with us what you discovered under this post.
